Your adventure begins as you depart Nairobi and travel toward the forested highlands of the Aberdare Range. After a scenic drive, you’ll arrive for lunch at the charming Aberdare Country Club before continuing to The Ark Lodge, located approximately 190 km from the city. Designed in the style of Noah’s Ark, the lodge is uniquely built beside a waterhole and salt lick that regularly draws a variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions, and exotic birdlife. A key highlight is the lodge’s nighttime viewing experience, where guests can quietly observe the animals after dark and even request to be awakened if a particular species appears during the night.

After a delightful breakfast accompanied by views of wildlife at the waterhole, your adventure continues as you depart from The Ark Lodge. En route to Lake Naivasha, you’ll pause at the equator for a brief photo stop before descending into the dramatic landscapes of the Great Rift Valley. Along the way, your expert driver-guide will share interesting facts about the region’s geography and its thriving ecosystems.

Upon arrival at your lodge on the shores of Lake Naivasha a tranquil freshwater lake renowned for its hippos and vibrant birdlife you’ll check in and enjoy a relaxed afternoon. Guests can take a guided nature walk on the lodge grounds, where sightings of giraffes, zebras, waterbuck, and occasionally elands or wildebeests are common.

After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to the legendary Masai Mara National Reserve (270 km), keeping an eye out for wildlife along the way. On arrival, a warm lunch awaits before you head out on your first thrilling game drive. Guided by our expert driver-guide, you'll explore the Mara’s vast landscapes in search of Africa’s iconic Big Five; lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino, alongside countless other fascinating species.
